Areas of the cooperation:

  • providing of a qualitative course of the rehabilitation of participants of the anti-terrorist operation in the eastern territory of Ukraine;
  • establishing of relations for the exchange of experience, introduction of the best practices in the development of the energy conservation and construction sectors;
  • creation of the joint projects what was aimed to the improvement of the environment;
  • development of the mutual relations to the training of specialists by the best practices and standards of the European Union;
  • realization of the joint cultural projects for the acquaintance of inhabitants of cities with culture, traditions, art of Ukraine and Hungary.

Miskolc is an important administrative, economic, scientific, educational and cultural center of the North-Hungarian region, and is also known primarily as an important industrial center of Hungary.

The city has a significant industrial past in the field of metallurgy and machine building, and the development of traditional industries has already begun in the 18-th century. On the 80-th years of XX century about 2/3 of the city's population worked in the field of metallurgy and heavy engineering. Today, mechanical engineering, chemical industry, trade and tourism are its important branches of the economy.

In Miskolc there are more than 160 thousand people. Miskolc is the fourth largest city in Hungary after Budapest, Debrecen and Szeged. The city is located on the river Sajó at the foot of the Bükk Mountains.

The University of Miskolc is a significant educational, research center in northern Hungary. Today the University has more over 100 faculties, about 850 teachers and more than 15,000 students.

Famous sights of Miskolc are:

City Hall Square. The center of the oldest part of the city is a typical example of Hungarian towns with buildings of 18th-19th centuries.

The National Theatre of Miskolc. The building was built in the style of classicism in 1856. Every year a famous opera festival is held in the theatre.

The Mindszent Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in the centre of Miskolc. It was built between 1724 and 1880 in Baroque style. It is officially called St. Peter and Paul Church, but in colloquial speech it's always referred how the Mindszent church.

The Castle of  Diósgyőr. It was built in the XIII century and was destroyed during the Mongol invasion (1241–1242). In 1706 the castle was in ruins. In the 1950-s this place was partially rebuilt.

In addition, the city is famous for its nearby health resort Miskolc-Tapolca.

Thermal cave baths in Miskolc-Tapolca with a water temperature of +28 ... + 35 ° C are unique because they are located in the natural depressions, were washed by thermal water. Water is reached by calcium, magnesium, hydrocarbons, bromine, iodine, metasilic acid and radon.
