Yurii Vilkul, “We continue to develop programs aimed at energy saving in the city, this year we are allocating UAH 2 million only for "Heating loans" for Kryvyi Rih residents.”

In Kryvyi Rih, under the leadership of Mayor Yuriy Vilkul, a program of partial compensation of loans for the introduction of energy-saving technologies has been successfully implemented for almost four and a half years.

Since the beginning of 2020, the city budget has already provided this type of support for residents of 14 for a total of 565 thousand UAH, while the total amount of loans raised by these housing cooperatives to implement energy efficiency measures is 3 million UAH. Kryvyi Rih in terms of the allocated amount of funding in 2020 became the first in comparison with such large cities as Chernivtsi (UAH 1,600,000), Sumy (UAH 1,500,000), Ivano-Frankivsk (UAH 500,000), Kropyvnytskyi (UAH 500,000), Poltava (300 thousand UAH).

It should be noted that in such regional cities as Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Ternopil and Khmelnytsky, the program in 2020 is not funded at all. And Kryvyi Rih entered the TOP-10 among non-regional cities in terms of funding for this program in 2019.

“In 2020, work continues to support housing cooperatives and housing and communal services for the implementation of energy efficiency measures in Kryvyi Rih. So, the city budget provides 2 million UAH for it. We do not stop the systematic work in the city aimed at the implementation of energy-saving technologies. We support and develop all existing programs in the city and the state. This year we are consulting with housing cooperatives and managers, and we intend to expand this program and improve it, considering the experience of 2016-2020. This is very important for the development of housing in Kryvyi Rih, so we help citizens to save and improve living conditions,” Mayor Yuri Vilkul said.

The average amount of compensation from the city budget is 40 thousand UAH for residents of one housing cooperative or in the area covered by one centre of housing services in 2020. This is 12% more than in 2019. And the average amount of borrowed funds is  214 thousand UAH.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that some housing cooperatives and housing and communal services have attracted such loans for their homes. Thus, the association of co-owners of apartment buildings Spaska 16, 17, 18, (Saksahansky district), a "heating loan" for the implementation of energy efficiency measures under the State Targeted Economic Program for Energy Efficiency and received reimbursement from the city budget 20% of equipment and materials. In 2020, measures were taken to repair the heating system and replace the old wooden windows of the entrances with modern energy-efficient ones in the buildings. The total amount of projects is UAH 852,000, of which UAH 117,000 is the amount of compensation from the city budget.

During the period of the Program, 152 loans totalling UAH 25 million have already been taken, and the amount of compensation from the city budget amounted to UAH 4.5 million.
